Use the Skill:
You could give two choices to keep your child focused on the task. For example, “Today, you can choose the blue shirt or the green shirt.”

Purpose:

Sometimes children stall or delay to get control when they are told to do something. Choices let them have control in a better way. Sometimes children stall or delay because they get distracted or overwhelmed. Choices keep children focused on the immediate next step. They also keep children from getting overwhelmed with too many choices.
Remember that choices are most helpful when you also use the other PC-CARE skills.
