Use the skill:
Reflect when your child is trying to stay calm. For example, your child says they’re mad because little brother wrecked something. Reflect “You’re mad that he wrecked it. That is frustrating.”
- Purpose: Reflections help a child feel heard and manage their thoughts. This helps them calm down and stay focused. Remember to avoid questions, commands, and criticisms.
