Talk about how you are getting ready to go. Maybe talk about the fun things you will do when you get home.

Redirecting helps your child focus on what you want them to do. For defiance, try to combine redirect and modeling. Start doing what you want your child to do. Describe what you are doing with a lot of enthusiasm. This will make your child want to join you.
Remember that redirect is most helpful when you also use the other PC-CARE skills.
