Use the skill:
Talk about how you handle frustration. For example, “My picture didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to. I’m pretty upset but I know I can try again.”

Purpose:
Children learn how to cope with frustration by watching you. Tell your child when you feel frustrated and what you do to manage it. When your child is frustrated, you can model calming skills rather than telling your child to calm down.
