Constantly looks at other things when you are trying to read a story.

Focusing on the book.
Use the Skill:
Try to break down tasks into smaller pieces. You could say, “Please read this sentence.”

Purpose:

Small, easy commands can help your child focus and complete tasks. But, remember that attention and activity level are areas of temperament. So, commands often don't help as much as other skills for overactivity. Make sure to use all of your other skills, especially adjusting the environment and calming, to help your child succeed.
Remember that effective commands are most helpful when you also use the other PC-CARE skills.
