Using consistent consequences for
Recognize the behavior:
Throws a ball at a child on the playground.
Identify what you want to see:
Playing nicely with other kids.
Use the Skill:
Possible praise: “You played so nicely with the other kids today!”
Possible negative consequence: leaving the playground, sitting on the bench with you for 3-5 minutes, or losing a privilege at home.

Consistent consequences are only for effective commands. Try to use other skills before a command and consequence. If you give a command, make sure your negative consequences make sense.
Remember that commands and consistent consequences should only be used when your other PC-CARE skills don't work.
