Recognize the behavior:

Identify what you want to see:
Carefully holding your phone.
Use the Skill:
Possible praise: “Thank you for being careful with my phone.”
Possible negative consequence: putting the phone away or attaching a strap to your child’s wrist.

Consistent consequences are only for effective commands. Try to use other skills before a command and consequence. If you give a command, make sure your negative consequences make sense.
Remember that commands and consistent consequences should only be used when your other PC-CARE skills don't work.
