Use choices to help your child manage anxiety. For example, “You’ve got two choices: you can hold my hand or we can walk in next to each other.” Or “You look a little scared. Do you want to take deep breaths together or do our stretches to feel brave?”
Purpose: Offering choices gives your child a sense of control. This can help them feel safer and less anxious.
