Recognize the behavior:
Repeatedly calls your name and pulls on your arm while you are talking to an adult.
Identify what you want to see:
Staying quiet while you finish talking.
Use the Skill:
Make sure your child has something to do while you talk. They also need a way to let you know they have to tell you something.

Purpose:

Children interrupt when they have something to tell you. Try to set up a plan for this. Maybe they put their hand on your arm to let you know they have something important to say. They could raise their hand. Or, they could have a paper and pencil to write down what they want to tell you.
Children also interrupt when they are bored and want your attention. Make sure there are fun activities for your child so this doesn't happen. Some conversations cannot be interrupted. In this situation, you might let your child have a special activity or a device to keep their attention the whole time.
Remember that adjusting the environment is most helpful when you also use the other PC-CARE skills.
