Using reflections for
Recognize the behavior:
Repeatedly calls your name and pulls on your arm while you are talking to an adult.
Identify what you want to see:
Staying quiet while you finish talking.
Use the Skill:
Do not reflect your child while they are interrupting. When you are finished speaking, ask your child what they wanted. Reflect what they tell you.

Reflecting lets your child feel heard and know they have your attention. Remember only to reflect positive or appropriate words. In this situation, you would use strategic attention while you talk to the adult. Do not reflect interruptions. Reflect your child when it is their turn to speak.
Remember that reflections are most helpful when you also use the other PC-CARE skills.
