Purpose:

Reflecting lets your child feel heard and know they have your attention. You might not be able to reflect while your child is playing with other children. If your child throws a ball at another child, talk about it later. Stay calm and reflect your child's words. This will help them feel heard and less angry about consequences. Remember only to reflect positive or appropriate words.
Remember that reflections are most helpful when you also use the other PC-CARE skills.
