As a tantrum ends, you can model calming skills to start recovery. As your child calms down, praise them for calming their body. Then find something calm to do together.

Recovery helps you and your child stay calm and build a strong relationship. One of the most important times to use recovery is after a tantrum or period of screaming.
Remember that recovery is most helpful when you also use the other PC-CARE skills.
