Use the Skill:
Try transitions before a difficult activity. For example, “In five minutes it’s bedtime.” “After this page, it’s time for dinner.”

Purpose:

Transitions help children move from one activity to the next. In the middle of a tantrum, transitions are not very helpful. But, you can use transitions to warn your child about an upcoming change. This will give them time to prepare for the change and make a tantrum less likely.
Remember that transitions are most helpful when you also use the other PC-CARE skills.
