Talk out loud about what you are doing to get ready to go. You can talk about being sad and what you are doing to help yourself feel better.

Modeling shows your child how to make good choices. Teach your child how to do things that are hard for them by modeling how you do it. Model what you want your child to do rather than giving commands. They are more likely to follow along with you and less likely to argue.
Remember that modeling is most helpful when you also use the other PC-CARE skills.
