Transitions help children move from one activity to the next. They help children prepare to listen. You can tell your child "5 more minutes" or "one last activity." This gives them time to feel upset and manage their feelings before you tell them it's time to leave. Some children like to set a timer on a watch, smart home device, or phone so they hear an alarm when it is time to leave.
Remember that transitions are most helpful when you also use the other PC-CARE skills.
