Using helping for
Recognize the behavior:
Hits or bites a sibling who took their toy.
Identify what you want to see:
Staying calm and asking for help when the sibling takes the toy.
Use the Skill:
If you are very quick, you might stop a very young child before they hit or bite. Redirect them back to their space. You could praise, “good job keeping your hands to yourself.”

Helping is best when young children need to learn how to complete a task. It's hard to use helping to stop aggression. But, you can use it to teach children how to be gentle with people, animals, and things.
Remember that helping works best when you also use the other PC-CARE skills.
