Using redirect for
Recognize the behavior:
Gets out of chair repeatedly.
Identify what you want to see:
Staying in the chair.
Use the Skill:
If your child starts to get off their chair, redirect them to the table. For example, tell them a story or talk about the meal.

Purpose:

Redirect helps your child focus on what you want them to do. You can redirect back to an activity. Or, make the activity really fun to keep their attention. Depending on your family's preferences and values, you might play a simple card or board game during mealtime. This keeps your child's attention at the table.
Remember that redirect is most helpful when you also use the other PC-CARE skills.
