Using praise for
Recognize the behavior:
Takes too long to get dressed.
Identify what you want to see:
Picking out clothes quickly.
Use the Skill:
Any time your child picks out clothes quickly, praise them. For example, “I love that you’ve picked out your clothes so quickly!”

Purpose:

It’s hard to praise when your child is in the middle of a negative behavior. Instead, make sure to praise the specific behavior you want whenever you notice it. Praise what you want your child TO DO rather than what you want them to stop doing.
Remember that praise is most helpful when you also use the other PC-CARE skills.
