For very young children, you might have the child sit in your lap to eat if they keep leaving the table, especially if you are at a restaurant.

Hand-over-hand helps young children learn how to complete a task. Your child might need your help to know how they are supposed to act at mealtimes.
Remember that hand-over-hand is most helpful when you also use the other PC-CARE skills.
